DANCING WITH YOUR BABY: For Mums with babies or expectant Mums, there is a lovely online class beginning 2nd Mar, dancing with Latin rhythms - salsa or cha-cha-cha with your baby. Contact Vera on 086-8938439.
TRÓCAIRE: " FromLimerickwithLove" - If you are interested in getting involved in the six week lenten challenge to collectively cover the virtual distance of 6,241kilometers, from Limerick to South Sudan, just go to 'granaghcommunitynews' facebook page and join the group, granagh walkers. People can support the walkers on the Gofundme page - FromLimerickwith Love. It's going to take a lot of walkers, I started a few days ago and have only covered 17km, don't think I will even make it out of Ireland on my own !! LISKENNETT: Thanks to the early-morning ladies who brighten up the trails with their seasonal decorations, which are very much appreciated and many comments have been received about them. For Valentine's they had seven hearts distributed around but two seem to have gone with the wind, after the weekend.
TLC6: The annual Good Friday team Limerick clean-up has been postponed for the moment. However, families could still do a clean-up on their own road. The roadsides are full of rubbish at the moment and it would be a good time to collect before growth starts. Be sure to wear Hi-Vis protection anytime you are walking on the roads.
DSL CHALLENGE: Down Syndrome Limerick 21km Challenge : if you would like to join and support this cause, just register at www.popupraces.ieand commit to reach the half marathon distance, to support the essential services that Down Syndrome Limerick provide. The official start date is March 1st and finish date is the 21st, World Down Syndrome Day. DSL is a charity that provides much needed therapies and services to children and adults in the Limerick region. It is run by the members for the members on a voluntary basis. Essential therapies like Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy are provided. They also run a successful adult education programme which provides students with skills to help them to secure meaningful employment. There are fun activities organised too such as swim and cycling lessons, art, drama, dance and youth club. Down Syndrome Limerick rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and clubs to fundraise on their behalf to keep services going. Money raised enables them to provide services and therapies at a subsidised rate, while also paying for equipment and resources to support the services offered.
