GARDEN DAY:
Thanks to all who supported Lady Harrington's garden day, was a bit miserable in the morning but cleared up in the afternoon. The gardens were looking beautiful, as always. Thanks to all who transported the catering items, served the teas and to those who brought some delicious pastries. Any that were left-over, were delivered to the Equine Therapy Centre and Morenane House, where they were gratefully received. Sincere thanks to D&M Garden centre, Croagh, who supplied about thirty plants for the day and who donated all the takings, from the sales. A wonderful gesture.
DIY COURSE:
The day course held last Saturday was a great success, with twenty five ladies participating. Led by Paddy & Michéal from the DIY Academy, who were excellent tutors. It was very educational, lots of practical advice and tips, plenty of equipment and well organised. They showed us how to drill into concrete and wood, how to cut plasterboard and repair a hole. We used sanders and a jig-saw, put a stud wall together and learned how to fix door locks and hinges. If it comes around again, I would highly recommend it, for any age.
