GARDENS BLOOMING:

CLOTHES COLLECTION: Granagh NS parents' association, are holding their collection this coming weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7th, 8th, 9th August, 5pm - 8pm each day. Drop-off at the Parochial House.

St. GOBNAIT's NURSING HOME: Every year they hold a very successful tea party to support the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland. Obviously they cannot hold the party this year, however, they want to do their bit to support this amazing charity. So, they held a bake sale on Tuesday 28th. O' Gorman's shop have kindly displayed a donation bucket for this cause, which will be there for a week or so.

GO FUND ME: I was listening to Ray Darcy this week and he was speaking to Laura (36) from Limerick and her friend Sinead Brien. Laura told her harrowing story, how she has been in hospital for almost two years. She had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis but developed sepsis. Since then she has been through hell and back - within three months she had to have just under twenty operations, fell into two comas & contracted MRSA. Laura had to learn to walk again which was made extra difficult because of the arthritis. Laura is finally at the stage where she can be left home but unfortunately home isn’t suitable. She needs an extension with a bathroom and bedroom downstairs plus the usual extras. Until this is built, Laura has to go to a nursing home.! A young girl who has been through so much already, she deserves to be at home in her own bed and start living a normal life again. If you can help out with a donation, go to www.gofundme.ie - Let's Get Laura Home.

RETIREMENT: Best wishes to Anne & James Hickey, Kilatal who have retired from the pub business after twenty one years. I'm sure they have had lots of celebrations, special occasions, long days, late nights which will never be forgotten. Wishing them every happiness for the next chapter in their lives after years of hard work. Best of luck to the Daffy family on their new venture.

USED STAMPS: I'm still collecting used stamps for the missions.
