PRIDE OF PLACE:

A few weeks ago I mentioned that Liskennett Autism Centre had qualified as one of the county representatives in this all-Island competition. Judging is taking place next Monday 4th July, 10am - 12am. St. Joseph's invite everybody to come along and support them on that morning. There will be a presentation with various speakers and then the judges have a walk around the facility and a chat, to find out what impact this Centre has in our community.

The common thread in all the entries is the impact and difference made by the particular group, in people's lives. The competition focus is about people coming together to shape, change and improve daily lives in communities.

St. Josephs have done all of the above - the difference they have made to families with an autistic adult have been enormous.

It took eight years of hard work to transform Liskennett Farm to an oasis of calm, which supports the adults attending, to live everyday to the full. We can be very proud to have this facility in our Community.

You have contributed to the Centre too. By supporting Granagh Players every year, they in turn have donated monies in 2008, 2013, 2014 & 2016. By supporting the Malin to Mizen Cycle, they in turn, purchased the Horse Simulator and started work on the Sensory Trail. So, you are more than welcome to attend next Monday morning.
