BIRTHDAY:
Wishing Essie Chawke a very happy 94th birthday for Thursday 15th. A wonderful lady, we wish her continued good health and a very enjoyable birthday.
ORGAN DONATION:
It came to light, after the tragic deaths in Adare over Easter, that one of the ladies concerned was the organ donation nurse manager in UHL. It was her job to approach families in the intensive care unit, to ask for their agreement, to donate the organs of their loved ones. It is one of the greatest gifts of kindness and selflessness, that in a time of great loss and sorrow, one can give the gift of life to another. In Ireland, organs that can be donated are the Heart, Lungs, Kidney, Liver and Pancreas. Making family aware of how you feel and your wishes on organ donation are the key steps towards saving lives. Donation greatly enhances and in many cases, saves the life of the person who receives the transplanted organ. #havethatconversation.
