Congratulations to Mrs.Lynch, Knockfierna on her win, we don't often hear of local winners. She purchased her ticket locally at O'Gorman's shop and Maureen ably represented her on the Tv.


CHURCH NEWS:

At Mass last weekend, the anniversaries of John, Bridie, Willie & Chrissie Cagney were remembered, as well as that of James Broderick. A thought for the rest of the week - " Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself ".

GRANAGH CHOIR:

Coming up in September, our choir director Roisin is making some changes and would like to set up a Folk Choir. She hopes that the choir can sing once a month at mass as well as special occasions, with rehearsals once a month. It will be open to all and especially students from secondary school upwards. Please spread the word and encourage any younger people, both male & female, to join.


LISKENNETT's Halloween Farm:

The pumpkin farm is returning again this year, slots selling out quickly. Open to the Public, October 29th & 30th; Two hour slots available from 10am to 6pm. Sensory day: Saturday 28th . BALLYHOURA, COURSES:

Commencing in Kilmallock, in September. The 'Towards Occupation' programme supports people who have been out of work for a long period of time and might be looking for some direction. The programme will support participants to boost their confidence and self-esteem, develop new skills and bring about positive change in their lives. Towards occupation provides an intensive suite of supports that will guide participants to develop pathways to employment, education, training or social activity overcoming barriers such as confidence, mental health challenges or isolation. Participants will take part in a range of tailored one to one supports, training programmes and workshops including:- Personal Development, Mindfulness, Communication Skills, Art, Yoga & CV & Interview Skills etc

'Computer Skills' in Kilmallock; This course commences on Friday, 15th September from 10am - 12pm in Coote Hall Resource Centre. This 7-week course is aimed at people who want to upskill or update their current computer skills with a view to improving their job prospects. This course will cover - e-mailing & attaching documents, saving & editing documents, registering on job websites, uploading documents, downloading & completing job application forms, job searching online, and how to use online platforms such as Zoom for online interviews. Sat 26th Aug, 9pm: The Joyce Brothers Music Festival present Jack Talty - a master concertina player who will make his Kilfinane debut, in Kellehers pub, along with Derek Hickey, Liam Flanagan & friends.

Sun 27th Aug: Limerick Show: There's something for everyone; Show Jumping, Competitions, Food Village, Markets, Live Music, Careers Village, KidsZone, Liam MacCarthy Cup Display (and chance to get your photo taken!), Fashion Show & Best Dressed Lady, Horticulture Classes, Horse & Pony Classes, Cattle Classes and Craft Competitions. Kids under 16 go free!

Fri 8th Sept, 8pm: Red Hurley will be performing at Friars' Gate Theatre, Kilmallock.

9/10th Sept: 11-6pm: Racecourse, Patrickswell. National Antique Fair.
