It was fantastic to see such a great turnout at our General Meeting held on the the soccer field stand and thanks to the Ballingarry Soccer Club for this.
As it happened our new Garda in Ballingarry station Mr Brian Murphy was present and he was introduced to the crowd and wished best of luck in his new role in Ballingarry Station.
Brian chaired the meeting and looked for proposals for Officers which were all seconded. The Officers are :
Chairman : Ned Cagney
Joint Secretary : Martha O’Connor and Breda Dineen
Treasurer : Tim Noonan
Assistant Treasurer : Tadhg Keating
PRO : Anthony Quaid
A very Healthy discussion followed touching on a lot of issues.
1. Unsafe nature of access road to carpark for walkers.
2. Access to Hill from Knockfierna is getting overgrown.
3. Access from Ballyelan side near Fort is getting overgrown.
4. Access to Pinical is blocked.
5. Lock on turnstile in car park.
6. Potholes on access road.
A constitution will be worked on for the next meeting and the officers will be ratified as soon as possible.
It was also great to hear from the local landowners on the night who attended, four in all and the two who sent their apologies.
Next Meeting is on 23/09/21.
