CHURCH NEWS: Anniversary Masses celebrated at the weekend included Jimmy O'Gorman, Jim Morrissey, Delia & Martin Chawke and Catherine O'Gorman. First Communion will be celebrated on Saturday 13th May. All are welcome to celebrate Mass at the shrine in Rathkeale every evening at 6.30 pm through the month of May.

HOMELESS COLLECTION: Collection held last Sunday in aid of Associated Charities Trust, Thomond Hse, Limerick. A total of €375 has been forwarded to them, sincere thanks to all who contributed. ACT support temporary accommodation for women over eighteen and long-term supported housing at their Altamira & Mirth Housing Projects. RIVERFEST: RiverFest in the city; 28th Apr - 1st May. A huge array of events over the bank holiday weekend. One of these is a "unique" vehicle show, at St Mary's Cathedral on Saturday, 12pm - 4pm. The vehicles on display will range from 110-year-old motorcycles to an autonomous self-driving car of the future. Spectators will be able to get close to a line-up of iconic supercars including a gullwing Mercedes 300SL, a stunning Lamborghini Miura, a unique Jaguar E-type that was displayed at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show, and a McLaren F1. Within the cathedral, visitors will have the opportunity to see rare items of motoring and aviation history, such as a piece from the first plane to fly non-stop across the Atlantic, in 1919, and the Irish flag used by the Lord Mayor to start the 1935 Limerick Grand Prix. EARTH DAY: Earth Day may be over, but you can still make a difference through everyday actions that help to protect the environment. Individual action is essential — it adds up to major improvements for the planet. Together, we can change the world. Nature is the precious thing that makes our daily lives possible and brings us joy. The Earth now needs protection from us humans more than ever, and this is our greatest responsibility. Nature has been mistreated in invisible places due to rapid economic development and the pursuit of convenience over the past 100 years. This year's theme is Invest in Our Planet Let's make every day Earth Day by making small changes in our daily lives that will greatly impact the future. St.JOSEPH's FOUNDATION: Registration closes this Friday 29th, for their ' Better Life Cycle'/Kingdom Tour on June 3rd. SJF are looking for volunteers to assist with events in October & December 2023. This is a great opportunity to see the services SJF provide, meet new people and join their community. There will be multiple volunteer roles available ranging from; - Checking Tickets, Reading stories, Selling items, Assisting with tidying Assisting with decorating. Fri 26th May: Granagh Pebbles; Parent - toddler / baby day. 12-2pm. All welcome for a cuppa, chat and play. A great way to meet all parents in your community.
