'The Foggy Dew' .

Jimmy Sheehy, Marylee Stapleton,

& Jim Chawke.

GRANAGH PLAYERS:

Final weekend performances of ' The Foggy Dew ': Fri, Sat Sun; - 27th, 28th & 29th Jan. In the community centre, (V35C584), 8pm nightly, tickets available on the door with shop and raffle. After the three year covid-break, it was such a pleasure to be onstage again and welcome everyone back. Great to feel the buzz of excitement in the dressing room and hear the audience chatter. The first night is always a bit of an unknown and anything could happen and usually does.!! The audiences attending were very attentive and appreciative. Thanks to the Players themselves, for giving one hundred percent every night, all our new members were excellent. The Ladies in the kitchen were kept on their toes, stapling tickets, sorting raffle prizes and keeping the cast fed and watered. Thanks to Shauna Fitzgibbon for giving us a hand each night. We sincerely thank all our Sponsors for donating wonderful raffle prizes. We had eight to ten prizes up for grabs each night - you will not get the likes of that, anywhere else.!!

The War of Independence was not a time that lent itself to much comedy but somehow Jimmy Sheehy has managed to insert lots of laughs - bubbles in the bath, comes to mind...!!! Being an original production, it was a work of collaboration. Marylee did the research/writing on Cumann Na mBan and Jim Chawke wrote the details of the Truce, Treaty and Talks. Tony Sheehan wrote all the Limericks, for the 'Verse-off ', no mean feat. Roll on the weekend, for another few nights of history, comedy and song.

For anyone interested, we have a few DvD's of some of our previous plays, on sale in the Shop, during the interval.
