HAPPY 97th BIRTHDAY MAIREAD:

Saturday 7th: Radisson Blu Hotel at 12.30pm. Returning to Limerick with 190 supercars and novelty cars, free family festival & celebrities.

GRANAGH Utd:

Last Man Standing Fundraiser: Commencing at week five, Saturday Sept 14th. Competition forms available at O'Gorman's Shop, The Rock Bar and the Clubhouse at E10 each. Choose one team every week, you cannot pick the same team twice, if you win, you survive to receive E250 cash prize.

FRIARS GATE:

Friday 6th: 'The Millers Story' at 8pm.

Monday 16th Sept: Arts & Crafts course commencing at 4pm for an hour, for six weeks. Children taking part will acquire new skills in printing, clay, charcoal drawing, painting, design, watercolours and more.

Tuesday 17th: Pop Choir with Lisa Finn recommencing with Juniors 5-9yrs, Seniors 10-15yrs.

SCHOOL's BACK:

Hard to believe we are in September already. Welcome back to teachers and pupils in our school, including Mrs Hayes who is returning after a career break. Welcome to the seven new Junior pupils and also to the three new older students who have joined the school. Wishing them all a happy and fulfilling year ahead.

CELEBRATIONS:

As always we have birthday celebrations BUT I missed out one very auspicious occasion last week. Mairead Chawke, Chawkes' Cross celebrated her 97th birthday on Monday 26th Aug. A marvellous lady who attends Mass regularly and has a smile and wave for everyone. Everyone will wish her continued good health for the year ahead.

Other young ones who celebrated birthdays - Anne Leahy, Claire Kelly, Siobhan Enright.

Congratulations to Mary Kate Ahern, Knockfierna who won the U12 Young Handler at the Cappamore Show.

Congrats also to Tom & Marian Noonan, Kilmore who celebrated their 38th Wedding Anniversary last week - still two lovebirds.
