'' GRANAGH's GOIN PINK FOR PEGGY'': A meeting was called by some of Peggy Tierney's Pals last week, mainly through texting, phone calls and word-of-mouth. Over forty people arrived on the night and some who couldn't make it, pledged their support. Everyone was anxious to help support her in any way they could, as she is currently undergoing treatment for breast and liver cancer. At the moment she is traveling to Dublin for her treatment, as this is the only place offering her that option. When this treatment finishes in October she will be put forward for drug trials in Dublin. There were lots of fundraising ideas given to the committee on the night, so the following is the plan of action. Sunday 14th July is the date. There will be a Vintage Run which will cover tractors, trucks, cars, motorbikes & anything else with wheels. Registration at The Rock Bar from 10.30am with Run starting at 12.30pm. Refreshments supplied. For further info - contact Richard on 087-2565393 or Mícheal on 087-8314410. Immediately after the Vintage Run leaves, a '' Fun Walk '' will also leave from the Community Centre at 1pm. Registration for this will be open from 11.30am at the community centre and refreshments will be served afterwards. No charge, just a donation. We are encouraging everyone to wear a bit of pink. On your return to the Centre, we will have a Bake Sale plus a Raffle for numerous prizes. First prize has already been generously donated - A weekend for Two in Killarney. Tickets can be bought on the day - three for E5. For those who cannot attend on the day, a '' Go Fund Me '' page has been set up. You will find it on www.gofundme.com under ' Peggy Tierney Cancer Fund '. Peggy's Pals - of which there are many - send her their love and best wishes to help her and her family through the next few months. Thinking also of her sister Kathleen, her six brothers and all the in-laws. We have asked the Community previously for support and have always received it - no doubt this will be the same. Thank you in advance and we look forward to a great gathering on Sunday 14th. Any further information, e-mail - peggytierneycancerfund@gmail.com
