Another Successful Play:

GRANAGH PLAYERS: Extra night: Friday 1st Feb: Granagh Community Centre V35C584. Tickets on the Door. Thanks to the Cast and Volunteers for making themselves available to do one more night. Another fabulous Raffle on the night also, E50 Cash, hamper, spirits, wines, gift sets, chocolates, biscuits, a remote control Ferrari, GAA goody bag etc. The dressing room steamed up for the last few nights - honey, lemons and hot drinks - with the cast trying to keep the hoarse throats and coughs at bay.. It is hard going on the voice box as there is still alot of flu around the place. We never realised there was a storm on Saturday night, luckily the electricity did not go out. Everyone puts in a huge effort for the play weekends and only with all the support and co-operation is it run off smoothly each night. Loraine Fitzgibbon, on makeup, is working and studying in the UK this year but she came back for the first weekend. Leah Twomey stood in to help out the second weekend, while Mary Morrissey found herself with a queue of fifteen men, waiting for her attention one of the nights! Merylee doesn't get a chance to go over her lines at all as she is styling hair for the ladies, no wonder she is a dinger at ad-libbing. What can one say about our Sponsors, their generosity is unbelievable again this year !! When we can give out E50 as a first prize and anything from eight to thirteen quality prizes each night, we are in a very unique position and we sincerely appreciate the support they give us. The most interesting part of the night is meeting up and having a chat with the audience afterwards, lovely to meet our regulars, those we have got to know over the years and there are always newcomers. We must congratulate on of our cast - Mixer- otherwise known as Niall Clifford who has been working and studying over the last four years. He has had exams each December, then he would join up with the play and make it look as if he had been rehearsing for months ! He persevered and has now passed his finals with Distinction and qualified as an Electrician. Well done Niall, a fantastic achievement. Our newest members - Martin Treacy, Sean English, Steven Hickey and Colm Noonan have been a fabulous addition to the cast. They have been given various parts in different scenes as well as moving props and do so excellently every night. Needless to say, the rest of our cast are up to their usual high standards. Roll on the final night.
