GRANAGH PARENT's ASSOC: Clothes Collection: - They are collecting, this week, any REWEARABLE clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, towels, bedlinen, soft toys are accepted. The collection company CANNOT accept: Mobile Phones, Laptops, Dirty or wet clothing, Mats, Carpets, Duvets/Pillows, Books. You can drop off bags at the school on Thursday 16th between 3pm & 7pm or on Friday 17th before 9.30am.

CONCERN COLLECTION THANKS: The annual Church-gate Collection for Concern took place last weekend. Amount collected in Granagh, € 286.50 and in Ballingarry € 653.10. Sincere thanks to all who contributed. Your support helps change the lives of the world's poorest and most vulnerable communities and it is very much appreciated.

CUAN MHUIRE - MARKET: Thursday 15th, the Farmer's market will be held from 10.30am - 12.30pm, at the Garden Centre, Bruree. Great ideas for Christmas gifts.

G/B CAMOGIE CLUB: Friday 16th November at 8pm in Ballingarry GAA clubhouse. The AGM of the club will be held and as always new members are very welcome. Congratulations to our U16s on their County Final win last Saturday in Ahane vs Na Piarsaigh on the tightest of score lines, 6.2 to 4.9. This was a very tight affair and Na Piarsaigh pushed our girls all the way to the final whistle. There was very little between both sides and our girls played brilliantly to hold on to the win. Well done to Seamus Twomey, Rebecca Noonan and Emma Noonan on all their work over the last few months. On Friday 16th November at 8pm, Friars’ Gate screens '' Lean on Pete ''. When 15 year old Charley takes a part time summer job with a small time horse-trainer, he develops a powerful bond with Lean on Pete, a racehorse on its last legs. Wanting to save the horse Charley flees with him on an American cross-country journey. British director Andrew Haigh creates a moving adaptation of Willy Wlautin’s acclaimed novel. Tickets €7.

GREYBRIDGE TABLE QUIZ:

Saturday 17th: The Greybridge Classic Club Annual Table Quiz will take place at 9.00pm in Dempsey’s Bar, Meanus (V35 XE14), cost per table is €20 and all funds raised are going to this years nominated charities - Cliona’s Foundation, Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Parkinsons Association of Ireland. They will also be presenting cheques from club activities throughout the year to these charities. Over the last number of years the table quiz has built a reputation for a great nights entertainment, so be sure to pass around the word and join them for a good nights craic all in aid of a good cause!!

'MY NAME IS JOAN': Tuesday 20th Nov: The Loss and Grief Research Group at LIT will host a screening of the award-winning documentary "My Name is Joan" at 7p.m. in Lecture Theatre Moylish Campus. "My Name is Joan" tells the story of Susan Drew, a woman who was born Joan Fagan to an unwed mother in the St. Patrick Mother and Baby Home in Dublin, Ireland in 1949. While the documentary chronicles Susan's journey to find her true identity, it also highlights the illegal exportation of children by the Catholic Church to families in other countries. Susan Drew will be a special guest on the evening along with Susan Lohan, director of the Adoption Rights Alliance Ireland, and a public Q&A and discussion will be held after the film. GRANAGH DEV: Work is still ongoing in the community centre. Up to last week, the hard walling is now complete, the stage has been rebuilt and the gas heaters are due to be recommissioned shortly. The new floor cannot be laid until the moisture readings come down to an acceptable level, so it is a waiting game at this stage. Thanks to Seamus Twoomey who volunteered his time and materials to straighten the interior wall. Thanks to the volunteers who did a clean-up opposite the school - Joe & Eileen Power, Natalie Stapleton, Mary Lynch, Martin Carroll, Shane Toomey and John Bennett. Thanks also to a second group who tidied up around the stone wall - Shane Toomey, John Bennett, Joe & Eileen Power and Mike O'Regan. Liskennett Car Park is progressing, the site has been excavated and trees removed. The next stage will be surfacing and fencing.

CEMETERY ROSARIES: On the Sundays of November, the Rosary is prayed at our cemeteries for our dearlydeparted. Everyone is welcome to join ; Shanbhotha at 3.00pm and Granagh at 3.30pm.
