GAA- BOOK LAUNCH: FRIDAY 9th Nov. 8pm. Ballingarry Hall. Granagh/Ballingarry Club are launching their book - '' In the Shadow of Knockfierna '', a history of the GAA from 1890 to 1990, written by Christy Kerins. Guest speaker will be Sean Kelly MEP & former President of the GAA. The history of the Club is finally down on paper after a lot of time and research so it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for supporters. All are welcome with refreshments afterwards.
CONCERN COLLECTION: The annual Church-gate Collection for Concern will take place at Granagh & Ballingarry Masses on this coming weekend of 10th and 11th Nov. Your support helps change the lives of the world's poorest and most vulnerable communities and it is very much appreciated.
CUAN MHUIRE - MARKET: Thursday 8th, the Farmer's market will be held from 10.30am - 12.30pm, at the Garden Centre, Bruree. Great ideas for Christmas gifts.
WORKSHOP: Ballyhoura Dev are providing a free course night to members of all organisations on Social Media and how to use it to advantage. It runs this Thursday evening, 8th November, at Coote Hall, Kilmallock, 7pm.. It is highly recommended for any group wishing to go online to improve their communications and promote their activities to a wider audience. G/B CAMOGIE CLUB: Friday 16th November at 8pm in Ballingarry GAA clubhouse. The AGM of the club will be held and as always new members are very welcome.
CHOMHBHRON: We offer our sympathies to the family of the late Christina Daffy (nee Quaid), Skagh, Croom. Very deeply regretted by sorrowing husband Donie, sons Michael, Shane, Daniel and George, brother, sisters, relatives, kind neighbours and large circle of friends. She was reposed on Monday, 5th in the Family Funeral Home in Croom, requiem mass on Tuesday with burial in Relig Mhuire Croom.
CONGRATULATIONS: The Children’s Grief Centre in Limerick has won the National Lottery Good Cause of the Year award - they won €25,000 for the award, plus an additional €10,000 for its category win.. The charity, founded in 2009 by Sr Helen Culhane - which supports children who suffer loss from bereavement, divorce or separation - won the overall award at an awards ceremony in Dublin. Sr Helen said, she was overjoyed to receive this reward. She said, children often find it difficult to express their feelings through language so they are allowed to choose their own form of expression. The impact of this work with children is incredible. As a result of attending the Children's Grief Centre it has been shown that children are happier, more calm, and have less feelings of anger, guilt and sadness. Located on the South Circular Road, it is a free and voluntary organisation that supports children between the ages of four and eighteen. Since it started it has provided a space and place for around 1,000 children. You might remember, Sr Helen also won the 2017 Limerick Person of the Year award for her work with the charity.
