Michael Daffy, RIP.

COLLECTION:

This coming weekend, 19/20th, the Irish Wheelchair Association collection will be taking place at both Masses. Please support if you can.

CHOMHBHRÓN:

Our sympathies to the family of Michael Daffy, Knockfierna, who passed away peacefully at UHL on 8th August. Very deeply regretted by his wife Eileen , daughters Joanne, Anne-Marie, sons John, Thomas, Michael, Owen, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sister Mary (Quaid), brother-in-law Mike, sisters-in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Michael was quietly involved in many parish activities and helped wherever he could e.g. Macra Na Feirme, Church Renovation Fund, Water Group, Granagh Hall and the 45 Card Drive. A very large crowd attended the funeral and as we made our way home, there was a Dairygold truck patiently waiting for the cars to disperse, before passing through. Ar dheis lamh Dé go raibh a anam dilís.

GRAVEYARD MASS:

Mass went ahead in the graveyard as planned, rain clouds hovered but it held off. Our sacristan Kathleen, had a busy week but had everything under control. The Masses in Shanavotha and Kilmacow will be held at a later date.

First Holy Communion:

All materials for the ‘Do This in Memory’ Programme May '18, need to be sourced and ready for distribution at the meeting of the first week of September. Therefore, we need all families, who wish their children included in next year’s First Holy Communion Programme, to have their completed Application Forms returned by this coming weekend. Please don’t miss out on the closing date as it would mean you would have to source these materials yourself and this is difficult as they are only sold in bulk.
