AFTERNOON TEA - DAFFODIL DAY:
Mary & Peter Morrisseys,Coolruss, will open their home again this year, to host Afternoon Tea on Friday 24th March from 1.30pm till late, in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. As usual, Mary will have her fabulous pastries for tasting and a Raffle for numerous prizes. All support appreciated for this very worthy cause. All welcome.
FITNESS CLASSES:
Next Class, Thursday 23rd Mar, 7.30 - 8.15pm, in the Community Centre. All fitness levels welcomed.
YOUTH CLUB:
This coming Friday night, 24th March, Granagh youth club are hosting a Family table quiz at 8pm in the Community Centre. All welcome and entry will be €20 for a table of four. They are fundraising towards new Jerseys for taking part in various competitions.
Upcoming events: Sunday 26th: Bus trip to the Gaelic Grounds for the Limerick v Galway match. Cost €10 for bus and meal. Leaving the Hall at 1.30pm, returning at approx 7.00pm.
Friday 31st : Soccer & Dodge ball tournament in Newcastle West. €5 per member.
CONGRATULATIONS:
Recently honoured at the Local Enterprise Office Awards were Bernie & Joe Carroll, Coolruss, who were winners of Entrepreneur of the Year 2017.
Their company Student Programmes Ireland caters for international students who wish to come to Ireland to learn English. Students are placed with host families and they attend the local primary or secondary schools, some for a few weeks, some for a year. Wishing them continued success into the future, with their business.

CUAN MHUIRE:
The Garden Centre at Mill Rd, Bruree has just opened for the new season. Their hours are 9.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 12pm - 6pm Sunday. They have a large free car park, a lovely Cafe for snacks and a shop with a wide variety of craft and gardening products. Check out their new range of plants in well laid out beds and polytunnels. New services being provided at the resource centre, beside the hall in Ballingarry. Parent/Baby/Toddler Group every Monday morning from 9.30am Art Class beginning on Monday 27th March from 7pm - 9pm, €40 per 5 Classes Over 60's Social Club beginning on Monday 10th April from 2pm, €3 per person Book Club beginning on Wednesday 12th April from 7pm - 8.30pm, €3 per person Ballingarry Walk from the Resource Centre beginning on Thursday 13th April from 7pm Chiropody is in Ballingarry Family Resource Centre Thursday 6th April from 10am - 12pm, €10 per person over 60. SPRING FAIR:
Once again, it is Spring Fair time and the big day is planned for Sunday, April 9th. The official Opening, by Patricia Messinger, of Cork 103Fm, will take place at 1.30 p.m. at the Foundation’s Campus on Baker’s Road. We are appealing for items for any of the following stalls - Cakes, Books, Toys, Bottles, Wheel of Fortune, Home Produce, Euro Stall, etc. We would really appreciate donations of any unwanted (but in good condition) items for these stalls. There will be something to suit all tastes on the day. For the younger visitors, we will have a Magic Show, Toy Stall, Bouncing Castle, Super Slide, Obstacle Course, Pony Rides, Goal Kicking, Golf Putting, Face Painting etc. For the adults, there will be an excellent selection of books, lots of lovely prizes in the wheel of fortune, as well as some very interesting items in the white elephant stall and euro stall. The home produce stall is well worth a visit and has a lovely selection of goods. The bottle stall presents an opportunity to try your luck and win a prize. The cake stall offers an amazing selection of fresh cakes, bread, tarts and buns all home-made. There will also be a variety of musical entertainment on the day. One of the Raffles on the day, will be giving away 1st prize €1,000. 2nd, €500 and 3rd, €250.
