March brings breezes sharp and shrill...

CLASSES:

MONTHS MIND:

This coming Friday 10th March, the months mind Mass for Jim Enright will be celebrated in Granagh Church at 7pm.

DRAMA FEST, KNOCADERR​Y:

Final Nights. Thursday Mar 9th - " The Field " by Kilkee Amphi Theatre Group. Friday Mar 10th - " Chatroom " performed by St. John's Youth Theatre Listowel. Saturday Mar 11th - " A Wake in the West " by the Glanworth Players. Adjuciator - May O'Halloran.

C​OMEDY IN EMLY:​

The Emly Variety Players are on stage March 9th - 12th in the parish hall with their comedy " Love Knots " by Jimmy Keary.

ST. PATRICK'S NIGHT:

A fundraising Dance will be held for the Friends of St. Itas in the Railway Bar, Abbeyfeale on Friday 18th March from 9pm. Music by ' The Premier Blue Boys', finger food and light refreshments plus a Raffle for marvelous prizes. Adm €10, more details from Benny Thade McCarthy on 087-9918546.

CONGRATULATIONS:

We congratulate the following winners who received presentations at the West Limerick GAA Board All Stars Banquet. U21B Football Award - Edward Sheehy. Intermediate Hurling Award - Denis O'Connor. Granagh/Ballingarry Camogie Award - accepted by Claire Enright, goalie, on behalf of the Club.

Congratulations to Sr. Helen Culhane, Croom, on receiving Limerick Person of the Month award. Sr. Helen founded the Children's Grief Project in 2009 to help children who were affected by loss through death, separation or divorce. They have seen nearly 1,000 children in that time, aged anywhere between four and eighteen. 70% of the children who attend have separated parents while 30% have suffered a bereavement. At present they have 120 young people on their list with a waiting time of 8/9 months. Sr. Helen is a qualified social worker and psychotherapist who has ten people working with the children and about thirty volunteers attached to the centre.

YOUTH CLUB NEWS:

Five members attended a quiz night in Newcastle West on Friday 3rd. Meanwhile club members welcomed Geraldine from Limerick youth service who gave a talk and demo on skin care and make-up.

Sunday 26th: Bus trip to the Gaelic Grounds for the Limerick v Galway match. Cost €10 for bus and meal. Leaving the Hall at 1.30pm, returning at approx 7.00pm.

Friday 31st : Soccer & Dodgeball tournament in Newcastle West. €5 per member.
