We are almost there. Many thanks to the Youth Club and Gaisce students who helped with a big clean-up in the Hall at the weekend, along with our own members. Now all that's left - learn off the last few lines.

Brendan Behan's ' The Hostage' is causing lots of speculation - we can reveal, it will be something completely different !! Drama buffs will be delighted to see this rarely produced play which contains history, heartache, comedy, politics, poems and songs. Brendan was known for his irreverence and argumentative qualities, which was not helped by his alcoholism ! He sets the story in inner city Dublin, in a lodging house of ill-repute, added to this he introduces a bizarre selection of characters.

Delighted to welcome two new faces to the group this year Susan and Vincent. Following on from last week, we meet the rest of the cast.

We have Moll ( Patsy Power) who is narrator and singer. Playing the part of the Hostage is a British Officer,( Niall Clifford ), who finds it difficult to understand the carry-on in this particular house.!! Teresa ( Muireannn O'Connor) a lovely innocent convent girl. The IRA Officer (John English) by day a school teacher, by night a fanatical patriot. Fergus, ( Vincent Griffin), by day a ticket collector, by night a dim-witted Volunteer.! O'Shaunessy ( Susan Moran) came to play her Ukulele for us and now finds herself on stage.! On the night, expect the unexpected...
