Heat arrives in time for Exams:

EXAMS:

The exams are nearly upon us again this year and we wish all the students the very best of Luck. Any spare prayers would be very welcome, I'm sure. The Leaving Cert graduation mass was held on Monday 23rd in Coláiste Na Trocaire and was, as usual, a beautiful and moving ceremony. The theme chosen by the students was 'Our Journey' and I thought the following reflection was very apt , thought provoking and offers very good advice.

'The Train of Life' :

At birth, we board a train and meet our parents. We believe they will always travel by our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.

As time goes by, other people will board the train and they will be significant - siblings, friends, the love of your life, children and many others.

Some will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we won't realise they vacated their seats.

The train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hello's, good-byes and farewells. A successful ride requires having a good relationship with all passengers. We must give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is, we do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way - love, forgive and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty, we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

Wishing you a joyful journey on the train of life, reap success and give lots of Love.

MÍCHÉAL RETIRES:

In case you didn't know, Professor Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin world-renowned musician and Director of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance has recently retired to be replaced by Professor Mel Mercier. He studied under Sean O'Riáda and is noted for his development of a uniquely Irish traditional piano style. From Clonmel in Tipperary he established the Academy in the University of Limerick in 1994. In 1995, the Irish Chamber Orchestra relocated from Dublin to Limerick and he has recorded extensively with them. In that year he directed the first performance of 'Lumen' specially commissioned by RTE as the interval music for Eurovision '95.

RORY Mc:

Congratulations to Rory McIlroy after winning the Irish Open at the weekend and for his fantastic gesture, donating his cheque worth €650,000 to charity. An example that could be followed by many an overpaid CEO, or those who have taken huge pensions ??
