Congratulations to the six girls performing "An American Wake" at Pallasgreen on Thursday night, who won the Scór County Final Novelty Act. They now qualify to take part in the Munster Semi-final at Cashel on Sunday. Mark O'Shea also took part in the recitation comp and while his performance was excellent he wasn't successful.

BANOGUE - EXTRA NIGHT:

In aid of St. Joseph's Foundation - Liskennett Autism Centre. Banogue Drama group will perform " It's the Real McCoy " for the final time.!! An excellent production, directed byMary Liston - this Thursday 10th Dec, 8pm.

Adults €10 and Children €5. A hilarious comedy, and a wonderful night's entertainment for a great local cause.

CHARITY CONCERT:

Susie Butler with pupils from her Musica Fusion School are coming to Granagh Community Centre on this coming Sunday 13th - 2pm to 4pm. Proceeds will be donated to Limerick Animal Welfare, Kilfinane. Adm €5. Up to one hundred kids from Musica Fusion School participating. Full Orchestra of 42. !! Lots of Ensemble playing - Guitar, Violin, Viola, Double Bass, Cello. Various Bands and Quartets. Fab Evening of Entertainment.

ORGANIC COLLEGE:

They are hosting a “Christmas Fest” on Thursday December 17th from 5pm - 8pm.

Taking the theme of the Continental style Christmas Markets there will be a wide range of market stalls selling crafts and food gifts including delicious chutneys, jams, home baking, plants, jewellery, and other goodies. You can also pick up natural gifts like Christmas Wreaths, hand-made soaps, balms and luxurious treats. There will be face painting for children and to relax visitors will get to enjoy tea & coffee, hot chocolate, homemade cakes, Broadford Youth Choir will singing Christmas Carols to get us in the Festive mood.

Christmas is almost upon us and what better way to celebrate than to support local community enterprises and come home with some unique Christmas gifts. Money spent locally will recycle within the community as well as giving the buyer top quality food and crafts. Fun for all the family!!

For the month of December, Granagh Dev. have paid a month's subscription to the newspaper archive on https://www.irishnewsarchive.com . Records for some papers go back as far as the 1830's, the Limerick Leader begins in Jan 1905. TRAINING COURSE:

St. Joseph’s Foundation in collaboration with Cork ETB will deliver a Local Training Initiative (LTI) programme that prepares learners to work in the Intellectual Disability, Healthcare or Childcare sector.

The training programme will be delivered in Mannix College, four days each week, with work experience placement in St. Joseph’s Foundation, a Creche or a Healthcare facility on the fifth day.

On successful completion of the LTI programme learners will achieve a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare 5M4339, QQI Major Award 5M 2009 Early Childhood Care & Education and Minor Award in Intellectual Disabilities 5N1652. Learners may receive a training allowance, travel / meal allowance depending on their individual circumstances. The LTI programme is full time, Monday to Friday, starting in March 2016 and ending February 2017.
