YOUTH CLUB:

Update on Club activities. Jesse Stapleton and Emma Noonan went on an training programme to Malta on the 5th of September this year. They learned many games and activities to do with kids, how to deal with different situations as well as interesting information on the Maltese culture. They stayed in a youth club called ZAC house with youth leaders from Malta. The Maltese were very interested in Irish ways and in our scenery. They had an amazing experience and were honoured to be there to represent Granagh youth club. On Friday 23rd Oct, for the first outing, Leaders are bringing the youth club kids to Funworld Bowling with some food afterwards in Supermacs. All kids will be collected at Granagh Hall at 7p.m and will be returned to Hall at10.30p.m. Bring €10 and signed Consent form. Looking forward to having great craic. REMEMBERING OUR DECEASED;

' STRICTLY ':

The ' Strictly Come Dancing ' fundraiser in aid of St. Joseph's Foundation in association with Charleville Golf Club will be held in the Charleville Park Hotel, on Saturday 21st Nov at 8pm. Of special interest, on the night - Tom Noonan will be taking to the floor and not with his usual partner !! At the moment he is in rehearsals at a secret location. We hope to have more information on his progress nearer to the date. MC on the night is Lorcan Murray, tickets €20 with fabulous prizes in the raffle.

HARVEST MASS:

There was a huge response to the Harvest appeal for the homeless and impoverished people of Limerick city. In excess of 1,000 food items were placed before the alter. Some of these included - 150 boxes of Beans. 94 pkts of Biscuits. 63 tins of fish. 84 pkts of soup. 30 jars of Coffee. 30kilos Sugar. 37 bags of Porridge. 39 pkts Cereals. 61 tins of Vegetables. 67 tins of Fruit. 53 pkts Tea. 53 tins of Peas. 51 pkts of Pasta. 53 jars of Sauces. 39 pkts Jelly. 29 pots of Jam. 37 tins of Rice. Also people donated bags of Potatoes, cabbage, carrots, turnips, parsnips, cauliflower, onions, apples, oranges, bananas, tomatoes and sweets. On third of this was passed to the local conference of Vincent De Paul and the balance was received by NOVAS, who are currently providing hot meals to the homeless.

CELEBRATIONS:

Congratulations to Tom & Maureen O'Gorman, who celebrated their 15th Anniversary this month. We all noticed that Tom had a certain ' glow ' about him over the last few weeks. !!

Happy 12th Birthday to Niall O'Donoghue and speedy recovery to his brother Jack.

Congratulations to Claire O'Donoghue and Con Kelly who are now Mr. & Mrs since the weekend. We wish them and little Connor many years of happiness together.

Once again we congratulate Granagh/Ballingarry U15s who won another County title at the weekend, this time it was the hurling team, captained by David Lynch. They are weighed down with Medals this year, well done.

Lots of Birthdays this month, home and away - Grace McCarthy, Marie Kelly. Emma Morrissey and Cian O'Regan. Little Miss Robyn O'Sullivan, grandaughter of Mossie & Ellen Kirwan celebrated her very 1st Birthday.
