VOLUNTEERS:

The Development Association are looking for some volunteers, who might be interested in helping with the running of

our monthly Tea Dances. We hold six dances, beginning in October through to December and then February through to April.

They are held on the third Sunday of each month, 2pm – 6pm, where we serve teas, run a raffle, have a few dances and clean-up

afterwards.

If we do not have an adequate number of people to fill a rota, we will not run them at all. Please contact John Bennett, Eileen

Power or any committee member, by this coming week-end, if interested.

GRANAGH.COM

Lots of photos up on the web site, including the 2014 presentation to Water Group members and the All Ireland sharp-shooters of 2003.!

The Local Business Directory has been set-up and the first six have been quick off the mark to have their services advertised.

As this service is free of charge, we would encourage anybody running a business to send in their details to – granaghcommunity@gmail.com

It has to be advantageous to let people know what services are provided locally, if business is to stay local.!

I’m sure people have old photos and documents, which we would like to borrow and put them up on the site. Many people who have emigrated

would love to see and read interesting details about the parish, which also bring back memories of their youth. One of the latest people to contact us from New York was Ita Moriarty ( nee O’Brien), sister of the late Jerry, Woodcock. If details are not collected now and recorded, they may be lost forever.

RECENT CELEBRATIONS:

Congrats to David Morrissey who just celebrated his 21st Birthday in The Rock, on Friday night. Saturday night was taken over by the Kelly family and friends

to celebrate Claire’s 50th. Tom and Marian Noonan celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary this month.

However, top of the list is our own Mairéad Chawke. An amazing lady, who celebrated her 93rd birthday in August, remains hale and hearty.

Many congratulations and best wishes for continued good health and happiness.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Liskennett Autism Centre are having their official opening on Friday 18th September at 3.00pm. All welcome to attend and see the beautiful job that has been done.
