County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship round 6 preview

There should be a feast of hurtling in G.A.A. venues all over the county this weekend for the four sixth-round games listed in the Limerick County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship. The mouth-watering clashes include Granagh-Ballingarry and Dromin-Athlacca on Saturday 29th August at Fitzgerald Park Kilmallock at 6.30pm; this meeting of neighbouring rivals has generated a buzz in both clubs as Granagh-Ballingarry in 6th place in the table on 4 points hope for a win to keep their hopes for a semi-final spot alive if other results go in their favour, and Dromin-Athlacca, who are bottom on one point at the moment, will need to take both points to avoid the drop to the second tier of Intermediate hurling for next season.

Dromin-Athlacca were defeated 1-16 to 1-8 by holders Garryspillane to set up the first ever clash of Granagh-Ballingarry and Dromin-Athlacca in the County Senior Hurling Championship losers’ group on Friday 28th July 2006 at Pairc Caoimh O Luing where Granagh-Ballingarry came from 0-7 to 0-6 down at half time to beat their neighbours 0-16 to 0-12;
