The mouth-watering clash of holders Feohanagh/Castlemahon and Granagh/Ballingarry in the semi final of the West Junior B Hurling League goes ahead at Tournafulla today Wednesday June 10th at 7.30p.m. with extra time if required.

PATHS TO THE SEMI FINAL

Feohanagh/Castlemahon group 1

Round 1: Tournafulla beat Feohanagh/Castlemahon.

Round 2: Feohanagh/Castlemahon 1-16, Newcastlewest 1-10.

Round 3: Feohanagh/Castlemahon 4-23, Duagh 0-4.

Play-off: Feohanagh/Castlemahon w/o, Newcastlewest scr.

Granagh/Ballingarry group 2

Round 1: Granagh/Ballingarry 1-10, Croagh/Kilfinny 1-8.

Round 2: Granagh/Ballingarry 2-9, St. Kieran’s 0-9.

Round 3: Knockaderry 2-16, Granagh/Ballingarry 1-16.

Play-off: Granagh/Ballingarry 5-13, Croagh/Kilfinny 0-6.

So today Wednesday 10th July in Tournafulla at 7.30p.m. is the place for all Granagh/Ballingarry Gaels to cheer on the boys in black and green and their management team of Conor O’Keeffe, Liam Carroll, Andrew Holmes, Steven Stapleton and Niall McCarthy as they bid to make it through to their first West Junior B Hurling League final since 2012 when they defeated the Feohanagh/Castlemahonboys 4-13 to 1-13 at St. Kieran’s GAA grounds in Coolcappa on Wednesday June 24th. The winning Granagh/Ballingarry side was: Jimmy Shiels (0-1), Neill Dunworth, Peter O’Donovan (captain), Michael O’Rourke, Eoin Casey, Brian Fitzgerald (1-2), Sean Lenihan, Kevin Trainor (1-4), Micheál Clancy (0-1), Padraig Lynch (0-1). Kevin Condron (0-1), Paul O’Brien (0-1), David O’Keeffe (1-1), Niall Carroll, Alan Chawke, Sub: Pa Healy (1-1), Paul Kennedy, Colm Noonan, Mark Tierney, Mike Houlihan, Mark Snow, Martin Tracey, Pat Carroll, Darren Clifford, Conor Hogan, Kieran O’Donovan, Seamus Stapleton, Kevin Moynihan, Kevin Forde and Brian Healy.

WEST JUNIOR B HURLING LEAGUE FINAL

St. Kieran’s GAA grounds in Coolcappa is the venue on Tuesday July 16th at 7.30p.m. for the meeting of Granagh/Ballingarry or Feohanagh/Castlemahon and Tournafulla or Knockaderry in the West Limerick Junior Hurling League final for the Seamus Flanagan Perpetual Cup.

MUNSTER SEMI FINALL TICKETS

Tickets for the Limerick v Tipperary Munster Intermediate and Senior Hurling Championship semi final at Pairc na nGael on Sunday 21st June will be distributed to the Granagh/Ballingarry GAA club members who have ordered them on Thursday 18th June in the clubhouse in Ballingarry at 8.30p.m. or contact the secretary at 087 2912356 to arrange collection. Please note all tickets must be paid for on collection by cheque or cash.

WEST JUNIOR A FOOTBALL

Round 4 Cancelled

The Granagh/Ballingarry v Cappagh West Junior A Football Championship Round 4 tie fixed for Knockaderry last Saturday evening was cancelled for good reason and will be refixed for a later date. Granagh/Ballingarry’s first game in the West Junior A Football Championship will now go ahead on Friday 19th or Saturday 20th June against Newcastlewest at 7pm at a venue to be confirmed.

GAA CUL CAMP

The Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Cul Camp for hurling, camogie and Gaelic Football will take place from Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July in the Ballingarry GAA field. A great week of fun is guaranteed for your child. You can book online at the moment at www.kelloggsculcamps.ie or application forms will be available in June. Attendance is open to primary schoolchildren ages 6 to 13. Cost is €55 for first child, €45 for the second and €40 for the 3rd and subsequent children. WEST SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Quarter Final

Askeaton is the venue on this Friday 12th June at 7.30p.m. for the clash of Granagh/Ballingarry and St. Kieran’s in the quarter final of the West Senior Hurling Championship. An exciting game is in prospect with the prize for the winners a semi final place against Newcastlewest.

WEST JUNIOR B HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP OPENS

Group 1 of the West Junior B Hurling Championship swings into action next Sunday June 14th with the clash ofGranagh/Ballingarry and last year’s defeated finalists Feohanagh/Castlemahon in Dromcollogher at 7pm. Five teams: Tournafulla, Feohanagh/Castlemahon, Feenagh/Kilmeedy, Granagh/Ballingarry and Newcastlewest are entered in Group 2 with the top team to qualify for the semi final and the second and third placed teams qualifying for the quarter finals. They clashed in the corresponding game last year on Sunday May 25th in Pairc Caoimhin O Luing, Feenagh where the Feohanagh/Castlemahonboys were 8 point winners on a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-6.

The Granagh/Ballingarry side was: Conor Mulqueen, Niall Fitzgerald, Eoin Cahill, Kieran O’Donovan, Mark Tierney, John O’Grady, Eoin O’Kelly, Gorden Cagney 0-5, Sean Lenihan, Mark Snow, Brian Fitzgerald, Alan Chawke, Neil Dunworth 0-1, Shane Mulqueen 1-0, Mickie O’Keeffe. Subs used: Marcus Moore 1-0, Brendan Lynch, Kieran Condron, Jack O’Donoghue and Jimmy shiels. Both sides have shown good league form this season and clash in the semi final tonight in Tournafulla at 7.30p.m.

So this Sunday evening at 7p.m. in Dromcollogher is definitely the place for all Granagh/Ballingarry Gaels to cheer on the boys in black and green and their management team as they bid to make a winning start to their West Junior B Hurling Championship campaign.
