They were blessed with a beautiful morning, the Church was decorated beautifully with their artwork and flowers. Blessings on James Ahern, Kate Callaghan, Niamh Hartigan, Sadie Hanrahan, Alicia Kiely, Óran Kiely, Cullen Kelleher, Evan McDonagh, Calvin Morey, Lily Mullane, Donnacha Noonan, Katelyn O'Brien, Aaron O'Brien, Kacie Scanlon, Eoghan Sheehy & Killian Tierney. Well done to all who helped the children reach this day, the parents, class teacher Mr. Stephen Doody, the Communion group & Roisín. Afterwards, the crowd went to the Hall where last year's parents had some tea & treats ready.

Thought for the week: Always find a reason to laugh, it will add life to your years.

PARISH MEETING:

Tue 21st May at 8.00pm, re Parochial House. Why bother having a meeting ?? We are asking all parishioners to have their say on this parish property, which was built by community members, on land donated by the Bennett family. Everyone will have an opinion on the pros and cons of selling, buying or leasing the property and the committee want to hear these views, both positive and negative.

Why should you attend; (a) you might like to see it developed for a certain use. (b) it may not directly affect you now but it may affect your family. (c) once a decision has been made, there's no going back. The questions to be answered on the night are as follows;-

(1) Give the diocese the go-ahead to sell the property on the open market.

(2) Should the parish purchase the property outright from the diocese and look at ways to develop the house and grounds to benefit present and future generations. The diocese has agreed to sell the property at a reduced sum subject to Charities Regulatory rules.

3) Should we ask Limerick County Council to purchase the property (if funds are available via Building Acquisition Measure) and lease it back to Granagh Parish on a one hundred year lease, at a nominal fee.

This is a decision for the people of the parish. If it is to be sold, so be it - when it's Gone it's Gone. If it is to be developed for the good of the parish, the effort will require the help of many and the support of all.
