Cherry Blossoms in the Wind.










CHURCH NEWS:

Last Sunday, we remembered the anniversaries of Catherine O'Gorman and Mary Murphy.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a nAnamnacha dilís.

The Communion children and their families joined us again on Sunday last. Their special day is coming up on 24th May. Fr. Tom asked that we remember to bring in our Trocaire boxes asap.

Thought for the Week: Sometimes all it takes is a smile, a compliment, a caring word.

GIVE BLOOD:

Tue, Wed, Thur, 23rd, 24th, 25th Apr: at the Longcourt Hotel Newcastle West V42 TD72.

This is an appointment based clinic. Please call 1800 222 111 to book an appointment. They recommend that you have eaten something and have had plenty of cold drinks. Allow yourself about an hour and a half to complete the process at the clinic from the registration to refreshments.


VACANCY:

No volunteers as yet, for a Secretary position in Granagh Development Assoc, just until the AGM in October. It is open to Male or Female candidates, with the main job of taking meeting minutes. Contact any of the officers, Joe, John, Anne or Mike or drop an email to -granaghcommunity@gmail.com


MEALS on WHEELS:

Croom FRC welcome anyone living in Croom and surrounding areas, who would like to avail of Meals on Wheels to contact them as it is due to begin on Tuesday 30th April To avail of this service for yourself, a family member, friend or neighbour you can: pop into Lauryn in Croom Mills (2nd Floor) to complete a short form. OPEN EVENING:

Wed 24th Apr, 7-9pm: Unit 3, Tait Business Centre, Dominic St. Limerik Suicide Watch are pleased to announce their upcoming Open Information Evening, for the general public, prospective new volunteers and supporters to visit their base, meet their volunteers, or enquire what it takes to become a volunteer with their dedicated recruitment team members. All are welcome . SPRINGFIELD CASTLE:

DRAMA:

2nd May - 11th May: 'Jilly Morgan's Birthday Party' is coming to the Belltable, written by Liam McCarthy. Fresh from her appearance in ' The Empty Nest' with Seamus O'Rourke, Joan Sheehy is jumping straight into the role of director for this play. MONAGEA CRY:

Sat 4th May; TENTH and FINAL running of Monagea for CRY. Be part of it. Thank you for all the support down through the years. Out of tragedy and sadness came something positive and heart warming, remembering Niamh and Darra. So .... we're asking for one last burst, one last go for CRY Ireland to remember those gone too soon. You can partake in the cycle 100km & 50km or join the Walk/Run 5km & 10km.


KAYAKING on the MAIGUE:

Saturday the 18th of May, 9am -5pm. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced paddler, this event is suitable for all skill levels. Enjoy the scenic views, the fresh air, and the excitement of navigating the river's twists and turns. Following the highly successful kayaking events held in previous years, the Maigue Rivers Trust is delighted to organise this kayak trip down the Maigue, in cooperation with Nevsail Waterports.

There are two trips planned, morning (9:00-12:30) or afternoon (1:00-4:30pm), for you to choose from.

# Morning paddle: Meet at 9:00am in Croom Town Park, be briefed on what to expect and be taken by bus to Cherrygrove Bridge. On the water for 10am, off the water around 12:30pm.

# Afternoon paddle: Meet at 1:30pm in Croom Town Park, be briefed on what to expect and be taken by bus to Cherrygrove Bridge. On the water for 2pm, off the water around 4:30pm. Book your tickets on - www.allevents.in/maigue-river-kayak-event-2024.
