65 ROSES DAY: Friday 12th April is Cystic Fibrosis National Awareness Day. They will be selling purple Roses, pens, wristbands, shopping bags etc to help provide vital services and support to people living wit CF in Ireland. They are looking for volunteers nationwide to sell their merchandise . An tIONAD GLAS: The Organic College in Drumcollogher are thinking of running a half day Saturday workshop (10-2) for Organic Vegetable growing for Beginners, soon. If you are interested or you know of someone who is interested email your details to antionadglas@gmail.com If the day goes well and people are interested in going further, they will be doing a few more workshops on subjects like: Composting, Liquid Feeds, Green Manures, Soil Health and Fertility, Tunnel Growing, Rotations, Succession Sowing.

TROCAIRE: As you have heard, Cyclone Idai destroyed large parts of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi last week and heavy rain is continuing with more forecast. People in the region were praying for rain so that their crops could grow, but what has hit them is a devastating cyclone that has destroyed everything in its path. The impact of the cyclone is enormous – they could face months of hunger as a result of the loss of crops. Bishop Crean, who is Chair of Trócaire, said they are responding to this crisis in all three countries. As well as providing immediate humanitarian relief, Trócaire will work with communities over the months and years ahead as they rebuild their lives. Your donations during this Lent will go towards helping these communities and others who are in urgent need of aid.
