Youth Club on a High:

YOUTH CLUB : Congratulations to Granagh Youth club, who came home with two trophies from Limerick Youth Factor in LIT on Saturday last . Kayleigh Twomey won the solo singing and Rachel Houlihan and Eve Hayes won group singing. We are so proud of their achievement. Thanks to all the supporters who travelled.

CAMOGIE CLUB REGISTRATION: Friday 15th, 7 - 8pm: Young ladies, please take note - Granagh Ballingarry Camogie Club are holding their registration night for all members in Ballingarry Community Centre. On Saturday 16th, they will be in Granagh community centre from 11 - 12pm. Any club gear ordered will need to be collected then. They will also have copies of the Granagh Ballingarry Year Book on sale, produced in conjunction with the GAA and Ladies Football.. It has lots of great photo’s from all teams and events during 2018 and will be a great souvenir. Finally, due to new rulings from Croke Park and in line with GDPR regulations, we will need consent forms to be signed on the night by a parent, so we can continue to use whatsapp during in 2019. Therefore it is important that all parents attend our registrations. '' Making time to exercise and clear your head is essential. Young people need to have outlets in their lives and being active in a sport is one of the best things they can do." says ex-Ireland rugby captain Fiona Coghlan.

MONTH's MIND: On Saturday16th March, 7pm in Granagh, Kay Horgan's month's mind Mass will be celebrated.

DAFFODIL DAY: Friday 22nd March: Mary Morrissey's Daffodil Day event at her home in Coolruss for the Irish Cancer Society. BALLYHOURA BUZZ TALK: Wednesday 27th March: There will be a talk on the 'Buzzards of Ballyhoura Country' by ecologist John Noonan from Cork Nature Network in Coote Hall, Kilmallock, at 7.30pm. GRANAGH UTD: The U12 A team opened the 2019 season with a very exciting 1-1 draw in the local derby game v Ballingarry. The U12 B team started out this year's campaign against Breska Rovers with a 2-1 win at home. Calling U6s: Granagh Utd are putting out an Under 6 team this season. The first training session will be Friday 22nd March 18:30-19:30 and is suitable for children born in 2013/2014. It is non competitive and is all about learning the skills of soccer in a fun environment.

Race Night: Well! What a fantastic and enjoyable night we had at the Race Night on Friday night last. Thanks to Janice and Seamus at the Rock Bar for all of your help and for the uses of your premises, it much appreciated. To all the Race Sponsors and those who purchased horses we thank you for your support. To all the sellers for your hard work thank you all sincerely. Our appreciation to Seamus O'Brien who was an excellent MC on the night. Thanks to Timmy Cotter for making a great job of selling the horses in the Auction Race and to all who bid and purchased in this race, there was great fun had by all. To Rena O Brien, Elizabeth Horgan and Carmel Cotter Clifford who did great work on the tote your help was very much appreciated. Thanks to all who supported on the night. Finally a very special thanks to the Kiely family for sponsoring the Johnny Kiely Memorial Perpetual Cup - a very fitting tribute to a very special man who will always be remembered in a special way by all. Stephen Kiely presented this beautiful cup to the winning owners of the Auction Race who were the Jimmy Morrissey Syndicate.

2nd - Lily & Johnny Hanley Inc. 3rd -- Mike O'Regan & Partners. So all in all a very successful and enjoyable night was had by all and we are now looking forward to our Race Night next year and plan to make it an even bigger and better night of fun and entertainment.

EXHIBITION: Friars Gate Theatre: The Kilfinane Arts, Crafts and traditional Skills group are hosting their weaving exhibition at the Theatre for the month of March, free entry, just walk in and see their marvelous work. GET WELL: Sending the very best of wishes to Niall O'Donoghue, Kilatal, who has come through a big operation and is on the road to recovery, slowly but surely. Hoping he will feel better soon.
