GIVE BLOOD:
The next opportunity to give blood will be on Wednesday 9th Aug, in Kilmallock Pastoral Centre, 5pm - 8pm.
One in four of us will need a blood transfusion.! Because of new EU rules introduced last year, it meant that ten per cent of all current donors were ineligible, for various reasons, so 1,000 donations per month now
need to be filled. They need to hold a lot of clinics because up to 35 per cent of first time donors cannot donate for a variety of reasons.
CHARITY CÉILÍ:
In aid of the Irish Cancer Society, at the Knockaderry Resource Centre on Friday 11th Aug at 9.30pm. Music by the Striolán Céilí Band.
MORRISSEY CUP:
Tuesday 15th Aug, in Ballyagran, Bruree vs Charleville at 7.30pm.
FLOWER SHOW :
Wednesday 16th Aug, the Community Centre Newcastle West, is the venue for the 48th Horticultural, Flower, Cake & Craft Show. The prize money is €2025, plus cups and trophies. Further info from Joan Buicke 069 - 62559 .
CREATIVE WRITING:
' Imagine it ' a new creative writing club for children which encourages full use of their imagination to help them become creative writers.They will keep an inspirational journal, ideas box, dictionary corner for the squirmy words Bookenders reading club: swap books not swot them. Of course they can, open the poetry can! And much much more . Open day, Sunday 27th Aug, based in the Musica Fusion School, Bakers Rd., Charleville. Starting Saturday 9th of September for a 14 week course.
Group one is for children aged 7/8/9 from one o' clock to two. Group two is for children aged 10/11/12 from two o'clock to three.
