Deeply regretted by her loving husband Michael, sons Barry & Noel, daughters-in-law Cristina & Shirley, brother Cyril, nieces Caren & Amy, grandchildren, relatives and a large circle of friends.
Requiem Mass was celebrated in S.S Peter & Paul's Church, Kilmallock, with burial afterwards in Ballingaddy Cemetery.
EARTH DAY:
"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it ''.
Earth Day has been marked on 22 April every year since it began in 1970, the theme for this year is “Restore Our Earth“. Earth Day is designed to drive action on the environment and climate crisis around the world. It comes as the levels of planet-heating greenhouse gas emissions, in the atmosphere, continue to rise despite country-wide lockdowns and plans for a green recovery. We take for granted Earth's valuable resources such as land, water, air, gravity even. However, the message to protect our earth still hasn't reached everyone. I can see from walking in the wood that people still throw plastic bottles, masks, tissues, baby wipes etc on the trails, not a thought for the consequences !! Did you know that on average, every tree absorbs 0.07 tons of CO2 annually. If for example my annual carbon footprint is 34tons of CO2 , it takes 480 trees to offset it. !!
Check out events here: https://www.earthday.org and maybe do a clean-up locally, grow your own garden and planting trees are all great ways to contribute to the good of the planet.
