We send our deepest sympathies to Kevin Daly and family, on the death of his mother Breda, on Sat 11th. Kevin has videoed all our play productions since 2008 and has always been a pleasure to deal with.Cast members are still learning off the last few lines with a lot of laughing going on in between.! There are twenty two in the cast this year and we welcome a new member, Carmel O'Carroll, Kilfinny. Introducing the cast. Leader of the Council - Cllr. Anthony Belcher (Jim Chawke) otherwise know as Boss.He might be described as bribe-taker in chief, fleecing the local shopkeepers and arresting those who disagree with him. 'Steamer', the Postmaster ( John English) diligently reads all the mail, especially anything from Dublin and re-tells it as gossip. For him.." its a labour of love.... and anyone who goes to the trouble of writing a letter, must be an old romantic like himself ".The Matron - Philippa Strawberry ( Natalie Stapleton) - and Doctor Patel ( Martin Treacy) maintain their charges on a régime of strict discipline and no expensive medicines. In their opinion, “ the average human isn’t all that complicated – if he recovers, he recovers; if he dies, he dies “. The Judge - Amos Fudge (Joe Power) - obsessed with greyhounds & shooting rabbits treats his court as an extension of his tack-room. His Clerk is breeding geese around the back of the courthouse - useful for keeping the riff-raff under control..... seemingly.! The Chair of Education - Luke Pickles ( Seamus Murphy) - is not with-it alot of the time and his teachers seem to be " as mad as marmalade "Local businessman we think, although we are not really sure - Roderick O'Reilly (Tony Sheehan) - has a minor speech impediment which adds a half an hour easily to the play.!His friend/ partner/ buisnesswoman, we are not really sure - Fidelma Fitzpatrick ( Theresa Noonan) - is also burdened with a slight speech impediment, but it doesn't stop her talking...!!The local Superintendent - Stephanie Lugg ( Patsy Power) - seems to be above board, to protect and serve, although we are not sure.! Her officers are never far behind. Garda Whistler - Janice Twomey, Garda Popper - Kevin Fitzgibbon and Garda Snout - John Bennett. They have been warned ' not to be taking bribes above their rank'. More to be revealed next week.To be noted - this is a fictional tale, no resemblance whatsoever to anyone or any party in real life..!!

She was reposed on Tuesday at Daffy’s Funeral Home, with removal to Banogue. Requiem Mass on Wednesday 15th followed by burial in Anhid Cemetery.
