Granagh Development Association are offering parishioners an opportunity not to be missed.... When it's Gone its Gone !!!!
Do you want to reduce your energy bills ? Do you need to update your house insulation ? Could you do with solar panels for hot water in Summer. Do you want a free BER rating for your home?
The Development Association are getting involved in the Sustainable Energy Community programme (SEC), which will include all different energy users - homes, sports clubs, community centers, churches, schools, farms and businesses.
In partnership with the SEAI, they will provide funding to hire a consultant who will collect the local energy data. He will also do an energy audit of each building and produce a BER rating for same.
Unbelievably, all this is free of charge to you....... No charge for the energy audit, no charge for the BER Cert and no charge for the expert advice.
All you have to provide, is your total fuel bill for the year.

On Monday night last the Fitzgerald suite in the Woodlands House Hotel had a large appreciative audience for the launch of Pat Fitzgerald's new book ' The Colleen Bawn ' . Pat, formerly of Ballingarry, and now Adare - not to be confused with our friend Patrick C Fitzgerald, another font of knowledge.
He has produced a beautiful book on the short tragic life of Ellen Hanley, not only
on the events of the tragedy but the many legends that have grown out of it.
It is highly recommend, not only for its own value, but as a reference and heirloom for the future. It's available to buy now through O'Mahony's Bookshop, O'Connell St., and Crescent Bookshop in the Crescent Shopping Centre, Dooradoyle.

Tuesday 14th August: 11am to 12.30pm, tour of Ballyhoura Outdoor Classroom,
Griston Bog Ballylanders. Booking essential through Ballyhoura Tourist Office 063-91300.
Bogs may not be on your list to visit,️ they don’t create stunning views like mountains & oceans. BUT they do the world of good for our eco-system.
They have stored carbon for centuries. They mitigate climate change & regulate flood risk.
If we can see beyond their layers of plant decay to the power of what lies beneath, these valuable wetlands will continue to benefit our planet for years to come.
