We also sympathise with the family of Julia Enright  who died peacefully on April 9th at her home in Kilmore.  Wife of the recently deceased Jim.   Survived by her sons Tom, Oliver, Seamus and J.J. and daughters Kay and Helen, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchild, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Requiem Mass  held on Monday April 17th, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.   Go mbeidh leaba i measc na Naómh acu.

EASTER CEREMONIES:

It was great to see such good crowds at all the ceremonies.   The Liturgy group went to great lengths to increase the number of people participating in the ceremonies i.e. those who presented the Holy Oils, dressed the Altar, narrators and readers and those who volunteered for the Washing of the Feet.   The Liturgy group also decorated the Altar for each ceremony finishing with a beautiful Easter Garden on Sunday morning.   Many thanks also to the adult and children's choirs, with organist Roisín, for enhancing the ceremonies.   Our Altar servers are a credit, they are always respectful and are so well trained  -  many Churches now do not have children available to serve Mass these days.

Of course we cannot forget our Sacristan, Kathleen Twomey, who is ever present and keeps Fr. Dan on the straight and narrow.

The highlight of Easter morning is welcoming the babies who have been baptised during the year.    Well done to the volunteers on the Baptismal team - Claire English, Fiona Griffin, Norma Hanrahan, Aileen Murphy and Fiona Purtill.   This year we had eight babies present, to be introduced to the parish.    Well done to the parents for getting them out so early.

We sincerely welcome: -

Molly Jane Cahill with her parents Bridget & Michael.   Donagh Francis Carroll with parents Stephanie & Mike.   Adam Patrick Clancy with parents Jeanette Brown & Padráig Clancy.   Niall Thomas Kiely with parents Rosemary & Vincent.   Emma Jane McMahon with parents Karis & Eamon.   Lily Kate Mullane with parents Amy & Ger.    Caoimhe Mary Sheehy with parents Patricia & Paudie.   Noah Michael Twomey with parents Linda & Robert.   Two babies couldn't attend on the day - Dean Patrick Fitzgibbon and Ellie Mae O'Halloran.

KNOCKFIERNA  WALK:

A fine crowd turned up on Easter Monday for one of Pat O'Donovan's guided hill walks of Cnoc Na Firínne.  It was a beautiful evening, we made it to the very top and arrived back at the Famine Rock as the sun was setting.  Lots of walkers taking advantage of the fine evening and the loop walks.    Next walk will take place on May Eve at 7pm.
