May true Happiness, Longevity and Good Fortune be with your family in this New Year.
A beautiful beginning, weather wise, to the New Year, whatever will come later ? We can only hope and pray that 2017 will be a better year for the many people who have been suffering in any way, at home and abroad. Anything we can do to help out will make a difference -
" Let me be a little kinder, Let me be a little blinder, To the faults of those about me;
Let me be, when I am weary, Just a little bit more cheery.
Let me serve a little better, Those that I am striving for.
Let me be a little meeker, With the one who may be weaker.
Let me think more of my neighbour, And a little less of me. "

It was great to see all the visitors home and the huge crowds at Mass. The Youth Choir led by Roisín Sexton sang at Christmas Eve Mass and they were fabulous. Some of the very young, at Mass, were even treated to chocolates ! The Liturgy group decorated the Church beautifully and there is still time to call in and visit the Crib.
King of the Hill: Granagh Ballingarry GAA held the Annual King of the Hill challenge on a beautiful clear St. Stephen's Day. Only a few sliotars were misplaced on the way from The Commons to the village, such was the skill involved. Overall winners were the Morrissey family, David, Emer and Fiona, who was flown back specially for the challenge. The winning family were the Stapletons - Beth, Jessie and Kaylee.
