Camogie Notes 31st January 2017

Club Registration Days Granagh Hall on Friday 10th February 6.30-7.30 GAA Club House, Ballingarry on Saturday 11th February 10.30-11.30 We ask that all players, juvenile and senior, to attend these registration days and all that memberships will be paid in full before the start of the season. Juveniles are €35 and Adults are €55. This year we will be selling club ½ zip tops ( €30 for sizes up to 10/12 ages and €40 for other sizes) and skinny tracksuit pants ( €35 for ages 5/6 to 9/10 and €40 for ages 11/12 to adult), club jerseys ( €35 for kids, €40 for age 13/14 and €45 for adults) as well as bobble hats (€12) at our registration days. GRANAGH PLAYERS: C​ongratulations to Producer, Cast and all volunteers involved in the first weekend's production of ' The Hostage '. The cast couldn't wait to get going and you could feel the nervous excitement in the dressing room Pebbles After School Service use this room during the week so thanks to Natalie for having it all ready for us. She may come across some false eyelashes after the girls !! It's not often you will see amateur drama groups taking on Brendan Behan, but that fact would not deter producer, Jimmy Sheehy.! However the play is not anti-Irish or anti-British, he is quite happy to poke fun at those institutions that act on behalf of the people. GRANGH PLAYERS: We are preparing for our annual Drama Fest, dates his year are 27th, 28th & 29th Jan and 3rd, 4th & 5th Feb. Jimmy Sheehy, is back as this year's producer. Presenting ' The Hostage ' by Brendan Behan. The whip is out and its three nights per week from now on, Hail, Rain or the expected Snow are not valid excuses !! Jimmy is bringing one of Behan's most popular but rarely produced plays to Granagh. The main themes running through the play are innocence set against the political motives and ambitions of others, the erratic power of authority and the Anglo-Irish relationship.
